Anita Ekberg
Anita Ekberg is a Swedish actor from Sweden. Her roles were in a number of films both European as well as American. The most well-known role she played was in the dramatic comedy film "La Dolce Vita". The film received an Oscar and the Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival in 1960, and also was a commercial and critical success. Born in Skane, Sweden, she did a stint as a model prior to her acting profession. She eventually won the Miss Sweden contest. In the US the actress began to appear in films playing minor roles. The first role she was credited with was in the film "Abbott and Costello Go To Mars in which she was an Venusian guard. In the same year she received an award called the Golden Globe in the category of 'Most Outstanding Newcomer' for her character in "Blood Alley.. The actress was also featured in numerous other films throughout her career. They include the American-Italian War Drama 'War and Peace',"Valerie," the Western Film "Valerie", the British Adventure Crime film "The Man Inside The Man Inside,' as well as"The Dam on the Yellow River," a French and Italian thriller The Dam on the Yellow River. In 2015, she passed away aged 85.
